My conclusion is that Globalstar did not have a lot of very good subscriber numbers to show to new investors. Those terms look quite attractive (9% return plus option to buy shares at very small premium to G* price at the time of negotiation for 11 years) if one is assuming a very successful launch.

Though a bit discouraging and reflected in the stock price, I still expect an ultimate success of the system. For one thing, none of the planned competitors seem to have a significant advantage in the design or price of their systems. I am falling back to the discussion last year of basic cost per minute being under $.20 if discounting must be widely used. Wish I had more faith in Globalstar as a creative and flexible marketing organization. Lance
