A few reasons...

1. stupidity

2. the volume indicated the stock will go much higher and it moves quickly so we didn't want to get left behind ... also this is a heavily manipulated stock so the chances of getting left behind are very good although it doesn't look like that right now ... this can change faster than it takes you to enter an order and have it executed.

3. I have a very small position in this stock and I plan on averaging down ... if I had a large position in the stock I would definitely be out ... some stocks I play just for fun and to figure out just what the hell is going on and I stay in a position even though all logic says get the hell out.

I learn more from a losing trade than a winning trade ... if that makes sense ... but I only do this with smaller positions. I did the same thing with UBS ... took a small position and made a decision to hold through thick and thin and try to learn from the trading.

This market activity in Canada is very strange lately and I have been playing only small positions in Canadian stocks for that reason. Most of my money is in US stocks right now.

Once I have a handle on how to play the Canadian stocks again with all this manipulation going on I will be in and out of positions really really fast but I will be playing with large dollar amounts. I don't put in alot of money into a market I don't understand.

The last 10 days or so the Canadian markets have changed dramatically. We need to learn how to trade these stocks completely differently. I hope that explains what looks like a stupid move on my part with TAH. I have not lost much on that play but the chances of gaining alot were and are still very good so I hold my small position with the intention of adding at much lower levels. When everybody wants out of TAH I will be a big buyer.

Trading stocks in Canada is not going to be the same again but it will be much more profitable for those who take the time to analyze the activity without allowing their emotions to affect their judgement. The only way you can do this is to start off by playing with small dollar amounts so the extreme volatility will not cloud your judgement and you can learn how to play the game again without losing your ass.
