There is no doubt that Gibbons has been an extremely large contributor to Qcharts' success and the effectiveness of the product. I hope who ever replaces him in that role will use him as a role model.

I don't flip thru 100s of charts but it is rare to see the no chart/T&S. I leave it to Quote.com to move me, can't remember last CRT-ALT-N. Why do I see few problems and others see many? You feel new servers will help - GET THEM, but what are some of the things people can do to get a good connection and full service from Qcharts. Why don't you post to this topic and your site, the prime ways to do their part in eliminating problems.

The server farms are your job, What does the user need to do? What should one expect from Qcharts? is there a certain number of stocks/charts/quote sheets that stress the system to the breaking point? Some services try to restrict the usage. To your full credit and a main reason that makes you a standout, you place no restrictions on numbers. What should we expect given the NET at this time in its development?

Sorry to see Gibbons leaving. Going forward, please keep users updated on progression of your hardware/server/bandwidth improvement.

Hats off to Quote.com for (finally) some candor!:

"We have been having some queuing issues this morning, and from time to time in the past month. The typical symptoms of queuing are missing charts, and time and sales, but real-time quotes continue to come in. The problems has stemmed from rapid growth along with lack of servers to handle the load. We do recognize this is a determent to the service, and plan on adding more capacity as we go forward along with building a 3rd farm (set of servers in a different location.)... Going forward, we will continue to improve the reliability and the QCharts application itself. Others and myself will continue to keep a presence on SI, and feel free to let us know the good, the bad, and especially the ugly as this proves to be a valuable resource that is essential to growth and future plans."

THANK YOU Quote.com for finally stepping forward and admitting that there are major problems with QCharts servers, and that it IS NOT the user's problem! These are EXACTLY the symptoms I've been reporting (are you listening, Matt?). It is very frustrating to meet "the wall of defenders" here on this thread who have been trying to turn this issue around backwards into a user problem or an internet problem.

I do not mind hanging around and struggling with QCharts, and will happily continue to pay for my two monthly QCharts accounts, as long as you'll keep us openly informed about how things are coming along. Great program -- just hate the silence, and the wall of denial about datafeed problems that are quite obviously real. Today, for example in a hot market QCharts was virtually unusable all day. My other internet feeds were working great.

Sorry to hear of the departure of my new friend Gibbons, "The Terminator" :) With his skills and depth of knowledge, I am sure he will find gainful work soon. If he needs to, since he is probably setting on a big pile of LCOS options, which would be well-deserved from his great work with QCharts.

Good trading, -Steve
