Too true. BTW, thanks for your explanation about the "flight to quality" at the end of bull market being caused by mutual fund managers rushing to shore up the indexes. I had heard of the effect but not the cause...sort of like shoring up the levees as the river rises, I guess.

What do you think the chances are for a simple change of mood come January? You know, a the-party's-over-it's-the-morning-after-and-the-start-of-a-new-century-time-to-sober-up change of mood.

After all, nobody alive remembers the last change of century (& I have read that such a change of mood happened then). This isn't Y2K doom-saying, it is just trying to guess the psychological effects of a new century. With the market so pumped up on sheer euphoria, it could have quite an affect.

Of course, this is just my hunch. Any comments?
