Guy: I was using shorthand with DownSouth who is a major participant on the G&W thread - more so than I.

That thread discusses Gorillas and Kings in depth and uses a very careful set of definitions based on the book The Gorilla Game. You might wish to check it out.

But to answer your question as briefly as I can. Just for fun I put together a minimal gorilla game for that thread which had one of each - one gorilla (QCOM), one king (JDSU) and one godzilla (SFE). This is not repeat not my actual personal portfolio - although at times I wish it were, since it has gone up over 9 times so far this year. One further note is that the three stocks are weighted as 1/2 Qualcomm (my gorilla and wireless stock), 1/3 JDSu (my king and fiberoptics stock) and 1/6 SFE ( Safeguard Scientifics) (my godzilla and internet basket stock). This weighting reflects my relative confidence in the probable long run future potential of these stocks.

My real world portfolio does have the Q as roughly half, and JDSU next (but not 1/3 - since I need some room for other stocks).

You can see in my profile that I have a basket of stocks but they are almost exclusively in the wireless and fiberoptics technologies which I spotted some time ago as where I thought the most rapid growth over the past couple of years and next few would probably be. So far, so good.

Hope this answers your question.
