It is always refreshing when we agree. If only it happened a tad more often, the world would be a better place.....You are correct, the main difference was that the Serbs had a better claim. However, they were also threatening ethnic cleansing, not merely holding onto territory. I agree that we should have protested the Russian action years ago, because it was too bloody and indiscriminate, and offered our good offices, or sought another mediator, to see if an acceptable autonomy arrangement could have been worked out. However, let us face it, Serbia is more vulnerable to our pressure, and what happens in Yugoslavia has greater implications for Nato than what happens in the Caucasus. Therefore, some differential should be expected, approaching each problem.....
