The reason that lemmings go over the cliff is due to excessive partying and excitement caused by over population.

This may sound like a joke, but it's not. Look it up on Ask Jeeves if you like.

So there may be some parallels between CHTR longs and lemmings. Maybe we should chill out for a while. NOT!

Well Steve, time will tell if you are right.

I for one hope you are not, since I am long. :)

I've been burned once or twice on stocks highly touted here on SI, but that's because I've failed to do my DD. I think this one's a keeper.

However, I think this thread would benefit from a lot more numbers being posted, and I don't mean meaningless price targets. Yeah it's fun, but I think it's a case of people convincing themselves they are happy with their investment simply because other people are, rather than convincing themselves by doing and sharing research and facts about the company and stock.

Earnings, subscribers, TA, valuations of all kinds, relationships to other companies in fundamentals and pricing, obstacles CHTR may face and how we think they will deal with those obstacles .. these are things I personally like to see a lot more of. Just trying to make the thread more helpful. If outsiders come to read about it and all they see is "Woop! Woop! Come on $50!" it looks like a bunch of gamblers, not investors.

I know we're all betting on the game, but why the heck are we sitting around cheerleading? I'm a bit guilty myself - on really up days I have to express my joy with others that share it.

Has anyone thought about what happens if there isn't a slew of stellar PR after the QP? Recent IPOs have not done well after the QP because traders and investors alike have learned to play "the quiet period game" - buy on rumor, sell on news.
