No- it did not matter to me the pedigree of the vandals- it mattered only to me that they were present. Violence shuts down civil life- and it is true that the innocent suffer- but the innocent always suffer, I don't worry about that anymore. I weigh the matter and I decide which outcome I like in accord with my principles. Other outcomes will differ- no one has exactly my set of values and beliefs- and I do mean NO ONE (or at least I haven't met the person yet who did, I hate to be an absolutist).

I said (somewhere) that my assessment of the situation was based on my limited knowledge- clearly the mayor and the city governors of Seattle and the police had and have more information than I do. I like order. I like the police. That is my bias. I am more afraid of disorganized citizenry than I am of policemen. Again, my bias. You may have a different bias. I will keep my own.

And of course, I understand how your view might differ from my own.
