On another topic, who care about volumes?

I had the thought last night that the whole emphasis on volumes is silly. So what if there are record volumes in the market right now? Volumes are seasonal, even fickle. During the summer volumes sank and what happened? ETrade cut back their ad spending and weathered the drought beautifully. The emphasis is more appropriately placed on the fact that this company is smart and knows the waters it navigates better than any other. The fact that volumes are high is just gravy, really. In low volume times we are still a juggernaut.

I am very curious to see what kind of critical mass we can achieve once we start pulling profits...

i think etrade should make it clear what it is they want to do. they say they want the deal to go through but they don't make any moves to extend the 31-dec deadline.

if they want telebank they should extend the deadline as it's not going to get done by 31-dec. if they don't (which is what i think) they should say so and move on. until then the stock like the company is in limbo.
