This is powerful stuff! I never thought I would live to see the day when what we wrote as an expression of opinion(free speech) on the internet would be subject to the "big brother" syndrome.

I would think there would be another way to handle---i.e. Yahoo or any provider can stop service anytime that there is a complaint---and even give equal time to the management of companies to address the negative comments. So here I am advocating what I don't like---regulating.

This means that anyone on the internet should have a liability clause in their insurance policies.

Do you know what SI's policy is on this---is it similar to Yahoo's? Or is there privacy with our postings---including private messages to others.

And, how about the messages we trash---does SI retain these indefnitely. A lot of questions as this new frontier continues.

I can understand a need for monitoring when a minor is being approached by some weirdo with no good intentions or pornography is readily available to young people.
