Since moves down almost always happen much faster than moves up, I am seriously considering shorting some tech and internut dogs here. Watching the charts on CNBC shows ridiculous runups in those in the last month or two. Many charts look to be topping out. High Technology tends to have very complex and time critical manufacturing processes, especially semiconductor fabs. Fabs are also among the most dangerous places in the world to work, due to the toxic chemicals, exploding gasses, etc. If Y2K is going to strike in a nasty way, they are likely to be targets. Each of the hundreds of machines has it's own software - tens of millions of lines of code in each and every fab. If just one machine breaks down for any length of time the impact on production can be dramatic.
