I just heard a fund manager for Grand Prix Fund;A, GPFFX on CNBC. He said he just sold XLNX. When asked why, he said 'because it didn't go up for 2 days.' Talk about what have you done for me lately! In fact, that's what he said.

One he bought recently this week or last is EMC.

Editing. CNBC's Joe Kernen just said the reason Xilinx is down today is that an analyst (didn't get name) said customers of Xilinx may have bought a lot of FPGAs in advance to stock for any possible Y2K glitches. Xilinx, I think he said, has denied this. ALTR also down. This probably got to LSI also, but just a little.

They (hedge funds) did the same thing to RFMD yesterday, but the stock recovered smartly today - not all of it but the 1-day trend was clearly reversed.
