Capt..... "this sick stock is still down 40+% from its high" How is that relevant now? IBM was down more than that 4-5 years ago. Does it matter now? "and cannot move in a great mkt" Where have you been the last 30 days??? Anyway, are you saying that your 12/31/99 target is 27? If so, those who bought today @ 26 will realize a 4% return on their money in 30 days. That's 48% annually. better than a CD! If it can do that every month next year, that 48% return would put the stock @ 40 on 12/31/2000 and that still ain't too shabby. El

When you consider that in this "great market" close to 60% of all stocks are experiencing declines, CPQ's currently GOOD performance is all the more worthy of note.

It's not our problem that some people bought at the peak....

CAP! You gotta like the fundamentals here. I got in about a week or two ago. ;-) We're going higher.

Box makers Dell and GTW are trading at 4 times sales. CPQ is trading at just over 1 times sales. Furthermore CPQ has a product line which more broadly addresses the business backoffice and communication needs. CPQ has made some good moves to pare down thier exposure to the channel and are well poisitioned for the first half of 2000 as budgets for enterprise buildouts loosen up. CPQ is way discounted here. This pup goes to 50 again in the not too distant future. Not many big cap tech. values out there like this one.
