Thanks for the help. I'll look for zip.com and whatever else there is out there, its been a long time since I've trolled the freeware sites. What I'm most interested in, is a serial link to my amiga system which has better graphics manipulation and paint tools. I'll study what you gave me on lilo. With the redhat CD I don't have an "installation floppy", or a second floppy that allows me to pop out of the startup procedure and set up configurations. But I'll get it eventually. I got some hardware and can do a much easier move, from adaptec 2840 to 2940 - that may involve nothing at all. Again, thanks for the help. Greg
