I mean unfortunately my broker miscalculated margin is done by addition, multiplication and subtraction, we learned that in primary school.

Trust me when I say I was not even a teeeny tiny bit happy about this...

During conversations with the firm's legal and compliance dept., which took place after I sent them a firmly worded letter, it was made clear to me from the margin agreement I and essentially every one with a margin agreement sign.... That the firm has the ability to liquidate positions at their discretion, to readjust margin a various stocks at their discretion.

In all fairness, I like the firm I work with, I have found they are some of the best, most ethical traders I have ever dealt with and thus I expect to continue doing business with them.

My account had a relatively small margin problem for about 20 minutes during the peak of ADSP. 10 minutes later it was not a problem according to my calculations. The firm has apologized profusely and I'm sure they will make it up somehow in the future.

Such is life.
