Merlin's public skepticism actually kept me out of the stock for a few weeks <grrrrr>...his actual comments were something to the effect that, "of all the B2B areas I see supply chain management as the least likely to produce a gorilla." Anyway, this discussion should probably be taken over to the Godzilla thread, since that's where previous i2-related chat has occurred....

Re "vetting": you learn something new every day. When I saw the purported etymology about horses posted above, I thought to myself, "that's just the kind of story that sounds so cute it can't possibly be true." So I pulled out my OED to check the real origin, and sure enough, the general usage "to examine carefully" derives from the more specific usage "to submit (an animal) to examination or treatment by a veterinary surgeon." First recorded 1891.
