I am well aware of those benchmark and yes they are 100% valid. You did not understand my post and chose to comment on it in your typical sarcastic and condescending way.

In the initial post by Mary, she said that Athlon is not a good CPU and it is only design to have a high MHz rating with no real substance behind it.

I disputed that and said that Athlon has a superior core compare to the Pentium. You YOURSELF admitted to this couple of posts later, this is what you said,

"a superior core (which the Athlon has)"

As far as bench mark goes there are plenty of them around. In some benchmarks Coppermine edges out the Athlon and in other it is the other way around. Coppemine is indeed competitive with the Athlon due to its on the die cache which the Athlon does not have. I NEVER disputed that. The older Pentium III which had no on the die cache (identical core) was convincingly beaten by the K7 on all benchmarks.

Elmer - RE: "You're the one who has obviously been marooned on a desert island. Check out the SPEC website. Compac , not exactly a wholehearted Intel fan, has posted the SPECint95 scores for their CuMine based workstation. It is the fastest benchmark ever posted, well ahead of Athlons at every clock speed. You sir need to return to planet earth."

That's funny, you are focusing on SPECint only.

Why didn't you show the SPECfp scores at this link, or do you not want your Intel buddies to see the Athlon's FPU is MUCH faster?
