In the vernacular of the "Big War" Malaysia is FUBAR! No telling what is happening here for at least a couple of months. Ruling party lost the richest state to their avowed hated opposition, a strict Muslim party. Strict observance and punishment for islamic law have already been put in place. The real effect though is the oil revenues coming in. The Fed. gov't. had been skimming a nice piece of cash, now the opposition will be VERY dilligent in keeping the books STS.

Businessmen in K.L. are up in arms over this since a lot of the business dollars spent came from the cash rich state. Going through this election has been a REAL education. The latest issues of Time, Asia Week and others should have a great read from the int'l correspondents. for anyone interested visit freemalaysia.com see what your "missing". I have a totally new dictionary re. such words as: "election", "influence", "intimidation", "theivery", and "scruples". The above site is a MUST READ for any student of the democratic process.

PTIX is attached to the newer better????? SI.

Oil prices haven't much upside left, but the issue is that there a lot of stock prices not far from where they were with $10 oil. Just doesn't make sense. Gas on the other hand is another story altogether. Some folks are saying there will be major shortages of Nat. gas in mid to late winter if the weather goes cold for an extended period.

Nice to be back, great trip, got a sailfish, some Wahoo and Dorado. Came in fourth out of 29 boats and raised a buch of money for some kids in Thailand. Nice feeling.
