Hi All,

History
I followed Wi-LAN closely for 6 months since Wi-LAN went public on the Alberta Stock Exchange when it traded between $1.75-$2.25. Dropped out for a while and look where it is now!

Technology
I have decent exposure to LMDS, Wireless, etc...The Wi-LAN
story is more credible to me than that from other firms. I will read-up more on all the claims and talk to few RF experts at my work place for an objective analysis of the
competing claims.

Business
Alliances are a key growth strategy for small firms. Alliances are absolutely mandatory for small firms from Calgary, which has limited track record for revolutionary inventions (no pun intended). The mentality of not invented in California or Wireless hotbeds in Europe works against
Wi-LAN. Calling the meeting in California to explore a broader alliance with key industry players was a tactical yet brilliant move to counter competitor claims. Few firms tend to do this, perhaps get too intimidated when going against established vendors.

Hatim
I have enjoyed Hatim's postings on Silicon Investor. I agree completely that a CEO in the Internet age SHOULD use it to the advantage of the firm and stakeholders. I rarely obtain useful info from corporate PR types and are never techies.
The CEO sharing his corporate views on a forum such as SI is invaluable.

Summary
I believe that Wi-LAN was a "diamond in the rough", but is now uncovered and is being polished to shine like a true diamond.

Regards
Girish
