El; This snippet and the previous article the only mention in Barrons. >When the author says "we" he means COMPAQ. Seems as though he agrees with John Koligman.

.......Cheapskate Update: For $999, the new Dell webpc introduced last week sports the same basic specs as our bargain Compaq system ("Penny Wise," November 15), except we got a bigger screen, a floppy-disc drive and a laser (instead of a cheap ink-jet) printer, all for less money. Dell does throw in a year's Internet access, which you can get free from several sources.
