If the Walmart Corporation is engaged in underpricing merely in order to drive other stores out of business, that is illegal under anti- trust statutes, and they can be taken to court. If they are simply selling cheaper, regardless of what it does to competitors, that is capitalism, where economic progress is always a matter of what Schumpeter called "creative destruction". Why should consumers subsidize the embalming of a town or neighborhood?
