Ron, thanks for clarifying that the 1960 was nixed by Forbes as a web surfing appliance rather than as a cell phone: that at least makes sense to me though I've never tried to do the web thing with it.
Off Topic: sitting in the cafe at MOMA in the Big Apple, a guy's cell phone 'rings' at the table next to me. The ring was bizarre (he'd downloaded Jimi Hendrix so it was like the opening to Iron Butterfly)--he had one of those Neopoint phones that Manes thinks is so neat. Turns out he was from San Diego and works for Phone.com (used to be Unwired Plant that the Q had/has a piece of?) and I guess Phone makes the Neopoint? Dude had just received a patent on cell phone voice mail, so that when your messages are played back you hear the caller's voice, like when Ramsey calls to give me crap about this post, I'll hear it from the warden directly. Don't know if that's progress, but he was kind enough to compliment my trusty QCP 2700 which he termed a "classic" model in the same tone you'd refer to a Model T. best, SM
