John, shorters would only short at a low share price and not cover if they had a motive. A couple of motives are obvious. One is the Dayton Mining suits. It is to Dayton's advantage to see Medinah destroyed. The second could be someone(individual, financial group, Major)who is attempting to destroy the company only to scoop it at the bottom and take over so they would get the gold. These things happen when potentially billions of dollars of gold at there for the taking.

One thing to keep in mind, there has been little evidence of short coverings. Most of the buying has been accounted for and is now in "friendly" hands. Keep in mind that any of the shorters prior to the dividend have no reason to cover as they will be forced to buy shares of medinah to make a deal over MG certs.

As for number, certainly Les gave a much higher figure at the AGM. I believe either you misunderstood him or he gave you the wrong number during your private meeting with him. Medinah's attorney stated that Medinah has the largest short postion of any public company that he has investigated-there has been very many. Cheers.

John,

I just hold a small position here and read the thread pretty loosely, but I'm wondering the circumstances of your meeting with Les Price. Your feelings for him sound completely disdainful, and so I'm surprised you'd even be in the same room with him.

TIA, Chip
