jbe, You are absolutely correct in your assumptions..The
Gulf War was not ever about Saddam Hussein..It was about
$$$$$$$$. I was personally very involved in this disaster...
and GHWB never had any intention of destroying Saddam..

Wow the response was much better than when I brought this topic (sanctions) up on the sanity thread a year or so ago. People are becoming much more informed than I thought. As far as published statistics I was refering to the popular media. Thanks for the article. I was one of those who once thought sanctions was less destructive than bombs.
