My favorite angle - demographics and billion+ trends

H&Q report has been posted on the Nite message board at Yahoo:

messages.yahoo.com

It speculates that Billion+ volume days on Nasdaq could be turning into the rule rather than the exception. Get ready folks, the party is heating up with a relentless vengeance, yeah!

This plays into my favorite angle, which is demographics. Writers like Harry Dent (His latest book was hugely disappointing, but the earlier ones are amazing), David Foot and Ken Dychtwald all argue persuasively that the boomer segment of the population is the one to watch. Just as boomers (77+ million in the US alone) drove up real estate, they are now set to drive up the market. Dow 40,000? You betcha! It's not that the companies merit such valuations on any technical terms, necessarily, it's just that so many people are entering the market that the water level is simply rising. Follow the star companies, as the investments will fuel those companies to new heights of growth and revenues. Who has the second stickiest web site in the world? We do! OH BABY! Who are the boomers using to handle their trades? Our company! OOOOHHH MAMA YES!

This influx into the market is happening precisely as Dent forecast back in 1993 - read The Great Boom Ahead to learn more. It's freaky.
