Bob Howarth, could be that in the last and may be current Q,( US market) NN experienced the same what many other tech company did.
I mean when new product is coming in several months(50 gig) some customers delay purchase of old (12.8 gig) and wait for 50 gig.
Specially that after introduction of 50 gig as a core , 12.8 gig become edge switch.
BTW,12.8 gig switch will be volume switch despite 50 gig, b/c LMDS carrier, which are much smaller then big guys, will not need 50 gig for quite some time.
Many will say that ASND have better switch.
Better in what sense.
To perform CE ASND needed extender introduced this year, b/c original switch was unable to accommodate CE.
ASND switch can not run LMDS for example.
Yes is faster and have higher port density, but can not do many function 36170 (12.8gig) can.
Was simply designed for different market.

I am sure Hagar will make some comments, but I also hope
instead saying few scatter words he will take some time and elaborate more precisely and may be educate people whom do not have right background.
It is always easy to say "it is not true" Solid argument would be welcome.

<<Many of us, including myself, have taken some pretty cheap shots at TM. Mea culpa. TM has got to be one of the true leaders that have made possible the new Internet Economy. It's about time we all gave 3 cheers for TM. Must be pretty tough laying folks off.>>

When you have a public company anyone can say anything about you and that is the price you pay. JMO but Terry is one of the finest fellows in the industry, he knows technology and cares about his employees. Make no mistake he is a fighter, but one who cares deeply about his company and the people who work there. He also is one of the if not the main driving force behind Ottawa's booming high technology industry. Directly and indirectly he has had his hand in more startup's than most know.
