Caxton, I have always admired Qcom and was exasperated with the fact that the market took so long to realize the true potential of CDMA. My only regret is that I did not hold on to the majority of my shares long enough to enjoy the sweet exponential move.

With regard to 3Com: when the Palm was owned by USRX it was a non entity. At that time the Palm had no significant market and it would have had little bearing on the merger it USRX merged without the Palm. It was only after the merger that the Palm began to manifest any significance in the consumer market. So to say that the founders of Handspring made the Palm successful is not true. Yes they did not get the resources they requested, but have you ever cogitated that timing is of the essence when you introduce a product into a market. You have to have all your cards in place and in 3Com's defense I have to give them credit where it is due. A good example is the recent marketing flop at Handspring, these brilliant founders couldn't get their operations in order for Xmas. Well I suppose we are all human.
