Neat use of the word "autocatalytic". Everything seems to happen more quickly every day. History is compressing itself like a spring under load, and future shocks are routine.(pun intended) I can think of several things that might make it different this time- for instance computer control of inventory makes excess inventory recessions less likely, the fed has gotten a little way past the witch doctor stage, etc. Nevertheless, I think capitalism is cyclical but self correcting by nature.
