Y.,

Or maybe they want to start shipments using a KX133 motherboard.

Y. Re << I wonder if their "contract" with Intel expires at the end of the year or something..>>

Hmmmm, that makes sense to me. Announcement on the 29th and no shipment till 2000.

It would make sense that Intel required a no Athlon policy till year end for more favorable pricing, and GTW has every intention to abide by that policy. Or perhaps they wanted to ship Athlon earlier based on the initial contract from Intel being void since they could not deliver the promised Coppermine. Intel changed their mind by threatening a lawsuit? Pure speculation but it does make some sense.

Saumel (is this how you would like to be called?)

<I wonder if their "contract" with Intel expires at the end of the year or something... >

Having seen and written quite a few customer/supplier contracts in my life I have a hard time believing this is the case. In my experience many customers break supplier contracts almost at will - there ain't much a supplier can do if they want future business from the customer.
