OK with me to use my post elsewhere. Thanks for asking. Regarding agility of older and/or bigger companies, this has been discussed on other threads. I believe that many of these companies today are not like their counterparts of 20 years ago. They know that change is inevitable and it is part of their corporate culture. Like a politician, if they see a parade forming they try hard to get in front rather than denying it's existance. A good example is how quickly MSFT reversed itself and developed a browser that conquered Netscape. I suspect that future networks will use some combination of SAN and NAS. I'm still doing my DD . Networking is very complex, and until recently not a major interest, so I have a lot of work ahead of me. The key factor (by the way, not mentioned in the SSB report) appears to that the real disruption lies in the bandwidth explosion of ethernet.
