I'm a little confused, are you saying part of the problem with ancient forest decline is one of these diseases? I've heard of Dutch Elm disease, but I don't know how it originated, although I am sure misc. diseases and especially imported insects do serious damage to the ecosystem... well, add pesticides to that list too. BTW rollerblades are produced domestically.
