nJim Willie, The wonderful thing about this technology is that it affords you a choice. The name of this thread is pretty self explanatory and after reading just a few posts, it's rather easy to see that most of this is tongue in cheek. Of course, everyone has a different sense of humor. While not a frequent poster, I do enjoy the give and take and mostly good natured ribbing. It actually served as a pretty good safety valve when the main thread came under attack for ridiculous reasons. As for the "enforcement" comment, if you are familiar with the "manual", you will know that there are fairly stringent hurdles companies must pass to even be considered for inclusion in an emerging markets "basket". Given the way most discussion threads meander away from the target, seems logical to me that the discussion thread on the GG principles and investment guidelines, would need to be just as rigid. I am thankful there are people willing to take the task on. It allows me to get the info I seek, without having to wade through 20 "me too" or "hey, y'all see how XXXX moved today? Waddy'all think????" posts. If this thread doesn't meet your standards, rather then protest, why don't you just find another more to your liking? Or better yet... start that "Neurotic and Paranoid" thread you mentioned.

jw, grouping the G/K thread and this curmudgeon thread together for analysis is a lot like grouping Sears and Qualcom together to analyze the stock market. Other than that, your post was brilliant. Sounds like our notion of using the curmudgeon thread to spew the "good old boy" stuff out is working, since, if this thread were mentally heathy we would really be wasting our time here, which , of course, we are. I benefit from your posts on the other threads, jw. Thanks, and keep up the good work and strange ways. Drop by here anytime and we will be glad to work you over when you are not in such a serious mood.
