<<I've not read the books that this thread ascribes to but I like the philosophy. There are industries and businesses within those industries that defy ordinary evaluation methods. They are valued by the imaginations of the minds carrying out the promise of the company.>>

Doug,

That's very nicely put. Still, many people here, with Merlin in the vanguard, have spent a great deal of time and effort trying to "value" Gorillas and Kings using a lot more than imagination. We welcome all who want to contribute here, but I suggest that "reading the books" will help you to do so in a way others can best appreciate.

PS the books, for any who might not know, are first and foremost "The Gorilla Game," revised edition, by Geoffrey Moore et al.; then, for extra credit, two earlier works by Moore called "Crossing the Chasm" and "Inside the Tornado."

How do you know? You may like chatting with the gang, but you can't have an appreciation of our philosophy without reading the manual. A lack of understanding of our methodology and terminology limits your ability to make posts that contribute to the hunt, Doug, so your multiple messages in the last day have decreased our signal-to-noise ratio. The best way to rectify that is to rtfm, the Gorilla Game by Geoffrey Moore, read a few weeks worth of posts (but not the last two weeks <g>), and then join the Hunt for the Holy Grila. We'd welcome your help.
