Jenna and Gemmers: Any thoughts on INPH? Stock is in the same sector as EMLX and BRCD, has earnings, and has been crushed in the last 2 weeks, dropping from $44 to 25 1/2. Worth a nibble or stay away?

To Jenna,JennaI have been a subscriber in the past to your excellent newsletter. Your indepth work with stocks is excellent. At this time I do not subscribe because of my work schedule from 9-5 Monday to Friday. I am not able to view your alerts you post regarding your stock picks or any other valid information involving the proper time to enter a trade or position in a stock. Have you found or any of your subscibers the best way to deal with such a problem? I thought the possible use of a pager may help or some other portable device in order to keep in touch with your site. I'm not sure if any of this is possible but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely,Donna Tondon@aol.com

Jenna, an update:

In this weekend's Barron's, there is a detailed article about how Wall Street is pressuring GM to sell its Hughes division, because Hughes' Direct TV/PC is seen as incredibly important but it is tied to the slower-growing GM. There is even speculation that GM itself might be a takeover target, not for its auto division, but because of Hughes' DirectTV business. DirectTV is seen as THAT important by professional portfolio managers.

An excellent backdoor way to play this situation in my opinion is NSATF. This company is a crucial link in DirectTV/PC...NSATF basically controls the distribution channels and aftermarket for the Hughes product. The best part is virtually no one in the mainstream Wall Street community knows about this company. All it will take is one analyst comment or a portfolio manager's comment in a national publication, and I think you could get a real buying frenzy in NSATF. As DirectTV/PC gets more and more popular, it's inevitable that will happen. And if Hughes is spun off by GM (which I think is very likely), everyone will be looking for side plays on the DirectTV business when the company goes public.

The DirectTV/PC element adds to the fact that NSATF is the world leader in KA-band technology, which is where most satellite industry insiders think their business is going over the next decade.
