The usual brokers, e.g. Schwab,Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Merill Lynch will buy them for you. If you are a big operator you'd be better off dealing directly through a foreign broker. I'm a Canadian and I've never heard of a Canadian gorilla. JDSU can be considered American because they have a US headquarters and are traded on NASDAQ via US brokers. Which Canadian company are you thinking about? PMCS can be bought on NASDAQ but not on any Canadian exchange.
Canada is a nicer place than the US; there are quite fewer shootings per capita. But, with exceptions, it's no place to invest.
