Re: "If true, Intel has violated anti-trust law."

Well Judge Petz, when did you hand down your ruling? To violate Anti-Trust Law you must have first established that Intel IS a monopoly, and then you could rule they violated the law. Your summary judgement was somehow missed by the press. You must also have established that AMD is not competitive and that will put you at odds with the majority on this thread. You can't have it both ways. If Intel is a monopoly then AMD isn't competitive. If AMD is competitive then there's no monopoly. I know McDonalds has an exclusive contract to sell only one Cola and for that they get a reduced price. No one screams anti-trust because there's competition in the cola wars. If you're going to claim monopoly then you admit AMD doesn't have a chance and you agree with me.

John Re <<If true, Intel has violated anti-trust law.>>

First I disagree.

Second, I think it has to be true. Wouldn't you expect Intel to require GTW not to offer the Athlon in return for more favorable pricing? What if GTW just turned around and offered the Athlon right after they got more favorable pricing? I am sure Intel thought of that.

I am sticking to my speculation that according to previous agreement GTW is not suppose to sell the Athlon before the new year. They tried to get out of it because Intel could not deliver the Coppermine as promised in the agreement but for some reason they changed their mind.
