Hi Wayne... I think this about brk - if one wanted to buy something in equities, i would rank berkie right up there at current prices , that's for certain - i wouldn't load up though and i think the price might decline more, although if one is nervy, a paired trade by going long berkshire and short one of the indexes might work out - i think the best way to buy berkie now is to leg in, with a b share every month or 3 or 6 months or whatever, depending on ones budget... - you are right, i'd rather have web choose the next equity (equities) for me and especially have him choose the TIMING of it than me. I'm an amateur and he is not. - its become easy and faddish to bash WEB. it may simply be that brk got bid up too high. even WEB said berkie was too highly valued and by gosh, he was right..its his stock, he should *know*. - its funny how those who bash him, will drop whatever they are doing and listen in silence if cnbc reports that warren has bought a stake in such and such company - i can't say either way if the problems with the insurance co's are significant or not. i don't have the expertise for this. - i don't blame web one bit for not getting involved in technology. as discussed on our thread, new technology replaces the old and mike burke listed more than once a # of old technology darlings that either don't exist or are at all time lows. technology is here to say but the current darlings may or may not be. - i noticed a few people on the mootley fuel boards talking about buying or owning berkie on margin...i think that's effing nuts... - i think members of the thread should buy at least one b stock and we can have a party in omaha in may ! ike
