>>Amazing how some people dwell on these and forget the runups like the over 70% one this year between June and September.<<

The nice thing about having owned this stock for many years is that it gives us a perspective in times like these. We have been through enough of them that, while we don't like them, they don't panic us either.
On the other hand, 35% annual ROR is not enough for some people. What would make such people invest in Intel in the first place is beyond me.

Regards,

Frank

>that chart shows a crummy 35% or so annual return

IMO this is not an appropriate measure. It would be fine if you just buy the stock and never sell it. Who does this ?

More fundamentally, do you make more money with :

- a C$CO-like stock
that goes up in a straight line and you never really know when to buy / sell

or

- a more "cyclical" stock like INTC. There I know EXACTLY when to buy, and that's when Kurlak, ML, Danny_boy, Jerry S., whoever comes up with either a downgrade, some bearish remarks or the promise "things
are really different this time". As to when to sell, oh well I am a simple guy who calculates the difference of what I get, minus what I paid for. If this works out 20 % or so, I am happy.
