The go2net site does allow jumping to sets of 40 posts, yes. This works fine if you know the post number of what you're looking for. I'm talking about finding something that's way back there, but you don't have a clue where it is within ten thousand posts. Leaving aside the fact that it is two and a half times more efficient to scan a hundred posts than it is to scan fourty, and the fact that one hundred is a more logical number considering that we use a base 10 system - real SI displays the hundred-range urls once you're back into the hundred-ranges, which allows you to set up a systematic search pattern by showing you, through the colour change of the urls, where you just were. The hundred-range currently loaded is black, the ones you've just clicked on are a dull red, the ones you have yet to scan are light blue. The go2net site has none of this, you just have to stab in the dark, or keep a record with pencil and paper. Compare - techstocks.com Subject 5725 The go2net site is clearly inferior for this sort of search. If you already know the post number you don't need to do the search. Once you're forced to go to pencil and paper you've really lost something - real SI does it all for you online. Notice that no Classic aficionado, to my knowledge anyway, is advocating the death of the go2net site. We're just protesting the murder of real Classic SI, and pointing out why that murder would be senseless. This is the best site on the internet. It is my home page, the centre of the web to me. If it is killed, i can and will find a new centre, but i'd rather not have to. Live and let live ...... Viva el Clasico [i can't spell that correctly with the diacritico because they don't work on the go2net site. Sorry] .. cheers
