Your comments make more sense now that I understand you were thinking of e-machines.

1) The Internet computers, with the hard disk on line, have not taken off.

Agreed. I'm not sure the product has gotten to the chasm but I'm certain it has not crossed it.

2) The Citrix solution is a minor cause of Intel pricing problems, if a cause at all, IMO.

As a direct cause, I agree. But Citrix's success lies largely within the realm of corporations' need to address a sprialing cost of ownership in which the cost of resources needed over the life of the hardware far exceeds the cost of the harware itself. I can't remember the exact numbers but a ratio of 5-to-1 comes to mind. It's that concern, of whicn Citrix address only a small part, that helped break the back of the Wintel control that helped keep Intel's prices so high.
