If we knew where NTPL opens on tuesday then we could do better in terms of the reaction to the ACOM open. I don't mean to be a hypster here but for discussion sake lets say that NTPL closes at $11 on monday and when ACOM opens on tuesday that it is $12. If ACOM begins trading at ,forgive me, $80, then I think that NTPL accelerates. If ACOM opens at $50 and immediatly takes off to the upside at a high rate of speed then NTPL would go with it. If ACOM opens at $50 and begins to sell off than NTPL would have a hard time holding its gains unless it is at $9 at that point. If NTPL is already at $20 when ACOM opens holding gains would be tough under any circumstance. If NTPL is $9 when ACOM opens at $80 I would think that NTPL would accelerate right into Wed.
The above is just a guessing game. So many factors at work, short sellers, volume, NASDAQ at that moment, momentum, even what CNBC or Briefing is saying.
In summary, if ACOM is spectacular and NTPL has not already gone ballistic, then I think it can hold its gains and accelerate in the near term. But should the Dow and NASDAQ be down appreciably for example, the moment that ACOM goes public, then who knows.
The above is a fun guessing game, I wish that it were less guessing and more objective.
