Hi Jim,

Yes, and I noticed that he factored in the motherboard (though at less of a difference than I think generally exists) but did not factor in the power supply.

If the market (and I think Pricewatch is something of a proxy for the general market) really were pricing the Athlon noticeably cheaper than the P3, I would consider that to be very bad news for AMD - but I don't think that's the case.

Pentiums faster than 600MHZ are available only in very limited quantities so far, so I don't consider their current pricing very significant.

That's why I wanted to be sure the issues of motherboard and power supply cost differences were mentioned on the thread.
