I remember that special. It was built in a Fjiord and towed out into the North Sea. Sorry, I can't remember the name either at the moment.

You may be confusing 'rig' with 'platform'. There have been a couple shows on the Troll platform -- the biggest thing ever built by mankind (I think that's what they said).

I also highly recommend the History Channel Modern Marvel show on Offshore Drilling rigs. You can buy this for $19.95 over at the History Channel web site. It is one of the most accurate stories of offshore drilling that I have ever seen done by 'non-industry' folks. It is VERY good. I bought a few of them to give out for Christmas.

Please note that the above mentioned show is different than the Troll show on the Discovery Channel. The History Channel Modern Marvel show is new and first aired on July 6, 1999. Again, it is VERY good and will give you a good education in offshore drilling. Anyone that invests in the sector at all should pony up the twenty bucks for this.
