Comparing Ebay's auction numbers to Yahoo's does not tell the whole story. I was amazed at a little basic research I did.

I typed in a few basic colors in both Yahoo and Ebay's main search box. For both searches, 50 auctions were returned. Almost all of the results returned were ending in less than 2 hours for both Ebay and Yahoo.

Here are the sum of bids on each webpage for each color keyword typed in:
Yahoo:
"Red"------8 bids on 6 different auctions
"Blue"-----16 bids on 7 auctions
"Yellow"---15 bids on 3 auctions
"Green"----no bids on any auctions

Amazon:
Red------no bids on any auctions
Blue-----no bids on any auctions
Yellow----6 bids on 2 auctions
Green-----7 bids on 3 auctions

Ebay:
Red-----119 bids on 34 auctions
Blue----125 bids on 28 auctions
Yellow--159 bids on 26 auctions
Green----99 bids on 27 auctions

Total Scores for 200 auctions ending in less than 3 hours:
Yahoo --- 39 bids on 16 auctions
Amazon -- 13 bids on 5 auctions
Ebay ---- 502 bids on 115 auctions
