<<You're not paying attention if you think the internet isn't killing off lots of traditional jobs. You ever try to save a buck buying on the net from some huge evil corporate enterprise?>>

The Internet MAY be killing off lots of traditional jobs. Are there any statistics on that yet? I know that it is definitely increasing the number of jobs for Airborne and Federal Express, who are hiring madly around this neck of the woods.

However, all those internet addresses where we buy things have warehouses full of merchandise that has to be packed up and sent out, and actual customer service human beings behind the facade of the website.

I certainly think NAFTA has destroyed a lot of American jobs. Do you think NAFTA is successful?

What you had originally said, however, is that the Internet is controlled by huge corporations, destroying mom-and-pop businesses. I disagreed with that, because the Internet has created great wealth for mom-and-pop entrepreneurs who were able to, um, ride the light or something!
