I have been a GUMM investor (long) in the past. This weekend I finally found some Zicam. Being a mechanical engineer, I look at products from a mechanical perspective. I was surprised to see the way the Zicam product is delivered. I knew it was a gel, but I didn't realize it was delivered as a "squirt" and not a distributed in the nose as a spray. I guess the gel formation prevents breaking it up into a spray.

My question is distribution in the nose... I have to say, I don't understand how the gel gets distributed around the sinus when it lands as a blob. I know we are supposed to squeeze our nose after application, but this will not get it spread around within our sinus, at least not like a spray. From a purely mechanical point of view, if the gel is only covering a small percentage of the sinus cavity, I have to say I don't see how it can protect a large percentage of the sinus. Can someone clarify or comment on this?
