Edit - this was supposed to go to Michael Cummings and for some reason it went to you. Ooops!

Most of the protestors were members of a coalition calling themselves the "Direct Action Network". It's members include such deeply intellectual groups as "Earth First". The "Sierra Club" along with a bunch of Fascist Neo- communist organization in Europe. To call these groups "intellectual" is nonsensical at best.

If you believe the groups representing organized labor care a hoot about the conditions of the working poor around the world. Think again. All they care about is protecting American jobs from foreign third world labor. Nothing wrong with having that goal, but let's at least try and be real about it? They're protectionists, pure and simple.

You know, one of my pet peeves is when people lump environmentalists in with trade protectionists. Everybody does this, I'm not trying to single you out or anything. In my mind trade issues relate to capitalism... as Ayn Rand said the most miserable man is the man without purpose, etc. Its all about building businesses and industries without obstructive protectionism. What does this have to do with environmentalism, other than environmental crimes tend to happen in the same countries that relate to trade protectionism?

Just taking as an example of the Maxxam lumber we were using earlier... Chainsaw Charles is NOT a capitalist... he doesn't want to build, he wants to destroy, obtaining capital from somebody else's creation, a kind of thief. Thats what environmental crimes are all about - they aren't related to free trade and open capitalism at all wouldn't you say?

Perhaps we have both lost our edge. I will try to get mine back by sharpening it on particularly annoying posters, I guess.

What atheists who took over a building are you talking about? Do you have a news story you can show me? I must have missed that.

Of course, the school shooter in Oklahoma today was a regular church goer. I am pretty sure that one's religious beliefs, or lack thereof, have little to do with character or behavior, really.
