I just found this on c.s.y2k. Bev Armstrong, a programmer from Down Under, found this newsbit--

recently asked by an Indonesian newspaper about its Y2K preparedness.

The reply is a gem:

"We can observe what happens (at midnight 1999) in Western Samoa,
New Zealand and Australia and still have 6 hours to make plans."

You have to wonder exactly what this means...They've done no remediation and will FOF? They've done some? All? And just plan to monitor the situation further east for warning signs?

So much for slow degradation of service perhaps...
