Datek issues margin maintenance call !! Rules change !

It appears as if I can no longer:
1) trade my entire account on a single stock
2) use Datek's margin account

This afternoon Datek issued me a margin maintenance call because I bought 6000 shares of MO at 26 1/8 and the price fell to 25 3/16. The "gentleman" I spoke to said that because of the "concentration" of Philip Morris in my account that they (Datek) required 50% margin maintenance.

I explained to this guy that MO was not an Internutz stock and not likely to go out of business any time soon, but he persisted, and insisted that I send him a check for $900 and change to satisfy the margin maintenance requirements!

It would appear that I will have to put Datek in the same bin with Waterhouse and Jack White. They have an unreasonable point of view. There is no way they can loose money, unless I am missing something, am I?

Datek must want to cull some customers from their list, as I look back at the unissued IPO for Goldman Sachs fiasco to this, boy they just don't have anyone there with their head screwed on right. I just can't imagine someone with an account like mine getting a margin call!

Gosh, I may have to sell a few thousand shares Monday and pay them off!!

Does anyone out there in trading land have a brokerage firm (on line trading) that is fair and honest and has a good trading front end?? I am honestly seeking a new place to spend my money.
