Understood. Civilian oversight is necessary in a republic. But there comes a time, when the die is cast, to turn the business of war over to the men who trained for it.

Right now we have men and women who have never even handled a revolver picking targets to be bombed. Or, if they are not directly choosing targets, targets must meet their approval. Ironically, these enlightened elites tend to be more bellicose than the most battle hardened vets. I guess we learned little from McNamara's War.
